Solihull

The house had a small separate kitchen and dining-room and suffered from
restricted direct access to the large rear garden.
Our Clients wanted a spacious kitchen – dining area that would act as the
main living area of the house as suits modern life styles with good garden
access.
The solution involved the removal of a large part of the structure to the
rear corner of the house. The extension structure relies on a steel frame
largely supported by a single steel post at the junction of the bi-fold
doorway and the curved glazing.
We wanted to ensure that the extension integrated structurally to avoid any
‘tide mark’ showing alterations to the original structure. Removal of the
existing rear wall was concealed by incorporating the steel frame within the
construction envelope.
Our Clients also wanted a solution with Wow! factor and they have advised
that the project has met their requirements.
